Saltwater and freshwater crocodiles may be viewed from the safety of “Tom Tough”, a 24 seater cruise boat. The largest breeding ground of the Freshwater crocodile is found in this vicinity. Many large saltwater crocodiles live in this reach of the river and are easily viewed and photographed as they lie on the banks soaking up the sun in their natural habitat.
The jungle like vegetation of Bamboo (native to the Top End) melleluca and eucalypts is unique to this area. Many species of birds, such as jabirus, sea eagles, kingfishers and great-billed herons may be seen. A bird list of the area is available on request.
