ONLY AN HOUR'S DRIVE FROM DARWIN

Halfway between Darwin and Kakadu, Mary River Park allows you to travel in comfort and take time-out to appreciate the diversity of the landscape.

Mary River Park boasts a 3km frontage to the Mary River and is a sanctuary for both woodland and wetland flora and fauna.

The wildlife is both abundant and varied, ranging from Salt & Freshwater Crocodiles to Azure Kingfishers, Jabirus and Wallabies.

A TRUE WILDERNESS

Meandering over 300 kilometers into the heartland of Kakadu, and with a catchment of over eight thousand square kilometers, the Mary River has a permanent human population of less than thirty who call its bank’s home.

It is a true wilderness, beloved of fisher folk, bird watchers, and those who love the spectacular raw beauty of this great natural system.

Host to an amazing amount of wildlife: birds of prey, a profusion of waterfowl, wallabies, water buffalo, dingos, lizards, snakes, both Saltwater and Johnson River species of crocodile, not to mention enough species of fish to fill a scientific volume, it is rare to find wildlife so quiet and plentiful.
And it's only an hours drive from our capital city, Darwin!

Bush Tucker man Les Hiddons once claimed that the Mary River region in many ways surpasses that of Kakadu for both wildlife and scenery.
